Sizzling Herb-Crusted Sirloin Steak with Protein-Packed Quinoa Salad

Recipe: “Sizzling Herb-Crusted Sirloin Steak with Protein-Packed Quinoa Salad”

Main Ingredient: Beef (Sirloin Steak)

Ingredients:

For the steak:

  • 2 Sirloin Steaks (about 250gm each)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 2 Cloves of garlic (minced)
  • A handful of Fresh Thyme & Rosemary

For the salad:

  • 1 Cup of cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 Cup of chickpeas
  • 1/2 Cup of fresh berries (Blueberries or Strawberries)
  • Handful of spinach leaves
  • 1 tbsp of Lemon juice

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Season the sirloin steak with salt, pepper, minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks ensuring each side is seared well, roughly 4-5 minutes for each side for a medium-rare finish.
  3. Let the steak rest for a couple of minutes before cutting into it.
  4. Mix together cooked quinoa, chickpeas, berries, spinach leaves and sprinkle lemon juice on top for the salad.
  5. Cut the steak into thin slices and it’s ready to serve.

  • Fat: 23 g
  • Carbs: 34 g

Plating:

Take a large white dinner plate and begin by elegantly placing a portion of the Protein-Packed Quinoa Salad off-center. Lay a few slices of the Sizzling Herb-Crusted Sirloin Steak leaning against the quinoa salad. If there are any juices left from the steak, drizzle it over the steak slices to enhance flavor and presentation. Sprinkle a few sprigs of fresh thyme and rosemary for an aromatic and visibly appealing presentation. Lastly, add a few extra fresh berries on the side of the steak to add a splash of color to the plate. The combination of the quinoa salad, with the perfectly seared steak, makes this dish a perfect harmony of colors and textures.
